台湾地区在美侨民身份认同的自我建构及其前景

The Identity Construction of So-called “Taiwan Residents American” and Its Prospects

受特殊历史背景的影响,美国的部分台湾地区侨民及其后裔逐渐建构出了有别于其他华裔的自我认同。这一情况被"台独"势力所利用,使所谓"台裔"群体成为"台独"分子在海外的重要助力。20世纪90年代以来,"台裔"认同在美国的影响力又有所增强,这对我维护一个中国原则提出了新的挑战。"亚裔细分"风潮的兴起,就是这一问题的集中反应。但从长远看来,由于"台裔"的"种族"认同在理论和现实上都缺乏可靠基础,其衰落前景不可避免。

Influenced by special historical background,some immigrants from Taiwan province and their descendants have gradually constructed so-called“Taiwan Residents”identity in the United States.This group has become an important resource for the“Taiwan Independence”forces.Since the 1990s,with the change of the domestic atmosphere in the United States and the cross-Straits situation,the influence of"Taiwan Residents American"in the United States has also been enhanced.The rise of the"Data Disaggregation"reflects this trend.However,this so-called"race"identity lacks a reliable foundation both in theory and in reality,so the prospect of the decline of"Taiwan Residents"groups is inevitable.
