Since the mid-20 th century, the industrialized food production that overemphasizes productivity and profit have resulted in the so-called“industrialized food chain disease,”a crisis characterized by large-scale industrialized plantation and cultivation of single foods and a phenomenon fundamentally negated by the animal ethics and heath food theory advocated by vegetarian Peter Singer and omnivore Michael Pollan– two of the most influential food scholars in the past four decades. While notions of“reliving memory of the table of our forefathers”and“food safety being the bottom line for safeguarding human rights of our time”are largely embraced by the whole international community,“community supported agriculture”in the USA and Polyface Farm shall be the paths by which human beings break free from the trap of“industrialized food chain disease.”
