An Analysis of Factors of First-Class University and Implications

伴随着"科学技术是巨大生产力"认识的逐渐深入,各国相继启动了科技强国的战略布局,作为科技研发和知识生产主要来源的大学自然逐渐获取了社会中心的地位。鉴于对一流大学的本质属于"仁者见仁智者见智"的局面,一流大学常有聚集成若干中心的趋势,同时科技中心的转移往往伴随世界经济中心的转移;因而本文立足于对美国顶尖百所高校的建校时间、地理位置、师生比、创始者、捐赠收入、校训等基本特征进行统计分析,试图以此提炼一流大学基本因素特质以为我国一流大学建设提供参考。

With the deepening understanding of“science and technology being huge productive forces”,one after another,countries have launched the strategic layout of science and technology power.As the main source of scientific research and knowledge production,universities have gradually acquired the status of social center.In view of the fact that the nature of first-class universities belongs to the situation of“different stakeholders with different views”,first-class universities often gather into a number of centers,and the transfer of science and technology centers is often accompanied by the transfer of world economic centers.Therefore,this paper is based on the statistical analysis of the basic characteristics of the top 100 universities in the United States,such as the time,geographical location,ratio of teachers and students,founder,donation income and school motto,in an attempt to extract the basic characteristics of first-class universities to provide reference for the construction of first-class universities in China.
