Electric motors are the main parts of metro vehicles,including traction motors,ventilation motors,and pump motors.Therefore,the electric motor testing and fault diagnosis are important to guarantee the safety of urban rail transit operation.This paper discusses the motor insulation testing and diagnostic methods,and focuses on the field applications of PI testing and step voltage leakage current testing.
