Donglin Faction's Official Morality Thought and its Significance for the Construction of a Clean Government

Chinese traditional political thought has nurtured a rich culture of official morality,which constitutes an important part of the clean government′s construction.At the end of the Ming Dynasty,Donglin Faction put forward its own official morality thought.The thought was based on the debate between good and evil,as well as the dichotomy between the gentleman and the villain.They developed it from the perspective of the relationship between the monarch and the officers,and the relationship between the officers and people.In the former,the officers should be loyal to the monarch.In the latter,the officers should be kind to the people and be strict with themselves.Donglin Faction′s official morality thought still has important significance for the construction of a clean government in the new era.
