Leverage strategy in pre-competition training of major sports events in nonhost cities:A case study of the 2018 Gold Coast Federation Games

探索非主办城市如何从战略层面充分利用2018黄金海岸英联邦运动会的赛前训练,以此来为城市谋求利益最大化。研究发现如下:赛前训练的战略性策划模式已成形。赛前训练被定位成一种有影响力的资源。选择非主办城市来举办赛前训练是考虑到它现有的运动中心和运动设备,以及离主办城市近的地理优势和相似的气候环境。机遇目标财富和收入得到持续发展。并且从战略角度瞄准团队,充分利用训练设备,将知名运动员的价值发挥到最大化,同时也避免了团队过于庞大。在谋划策略以实现其他机遇和目标之前,团队的安全必须要得到保障。短期的福利包括参观团队和随行人员变成客源,同时通过教育和运动项目将参观团队融入到当地社会。长期的好处包括可以将该地建成一个有实力的知名精英训练营和旅游中心。

This article uses literature review,field interview and theoretical analysis methods to advise the main tourism and government stakeholders and personnel,as well as pre-competition training for non-host cities.The interview began 8 months before the Commonwealth Games.At the same time,this article aims to explore how non-host cities can make full use of the pre-match training of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games from a strategic perspective in order to maximize the benefits of the city.The findings are as follows:The strategic planning model for pre-game training has taken shape.Pre-game training is positioned as an influential resource.The selection of non-host cities for pre-match training takes into account its existing sports centers and sports equipment,as well as the geographical advantages and similar climate surrounding the host cities.Opportunity objective wealth and income continue to grow.It aims at the team from a strategic point of view,makes full use of training equipment,maximizes the value of famous athletes,and also avoids too large a team.Before planning strategies to achieve other opportunities and goals,team safety must be guaranteed.Short-term benefits include visits to teams and entourage personnel as sources of tourists and integration of visiting teams into local communities through education and sports programs.The long-term benefits include building the site into a well-known elite training camp and tourist center.
