In the process of measurement of thermal instruments,the measurement personnel usually suffer from the problems of valid numbers and so on.The operation of effective numbers increases the difficulty of work to a certain extent.This paper analyses the determination of effective digits,introduces the rules of numerical operation,the rules and terminology of numerical reduction,and defines the expression form,rounding rules and 0.5 unit reduction method of repair digits.
