护士视角下老年人自我忽视的内涵研究

The connotation of elder self-neglect from the perspective of clinical nurses

目的探讨老年人自我忽视在中国文化背景下的内涵。方法采用目的抽样法选取武汉市某三级甲等医院老年科20名护士为研究对象,采用焦点小组访谈法收集资料。结果运用主题分析法,归纳出老年人自我忽视的5个主题:社交孤立(孤岛状态)、不服老、不在意、囤积上瘾、警惕性降低。结论中国文化背景下老年人自我忽视的内涵有其特殊性,卫生保健提供者、老年人的照顾者以及社会公共系统应该作为一个整体来支持老年人,共同应对老年人自我忽视的问题。

Objective To explore the connotation of elder self-neglect in the context of Chinese culture from the perspective of clinical nurses.Methods A total of 20 nurses working in a 3A hospital in Wuhan were selected by using purpose sampling method.The data regarding nurses′perspective of elder self-neglect were collected by the focus group interview method.Results Using theme analysis method,five themes of elder self-neglect were summarized:social isolation(islet state),denial of aging,not caring,compulsive hoarding,and reduced vigilance.Conclusion The connotation elder self-neglect in the context of Chinese culture has its distinctiveness.Health-care providers,caregivers and society should work as a whole to support elder people in the challenge of grim self-neglect.
