摘要
威廉斯一生致力于诗歌形式的探索研究,尤其随着年龄的增长,他愈发追求将诗歌与绘画融合,将绘画的设计与诗歌的设计融合于他的艺格敷词诗歌的创作中。《盲人寓言》是威廉斯晚年时期创作的艺格敷词系列诗《勃鲁盖尔的绘画》中的第9首,这首诗是威廉斯将绘画的设计与诗歌的设计进行融合的典范之作。在诗中他挖掘诗词、诗行与诗节的设计形式,试图运用诗歌诗行排列形式来模拟绘画的构图及其图像意蕴,通过诗歌文本设计来再现、转换并重塑勃鲁盖尔的绘画;同时表达他对勃鲁盖尔及其艺术的独特方式的赞美和敬意。
Williams is devoted to the exploration of poetic form throughout his life,and especially as he grows older,he attempts to fuse the design of the painting and of the poem as well as fusing the poetry and painting in his ekphrastic poems.“The Parable of the Blind”,the ninth poem in the Brueghel sequence Pictures from Brueghel in his late years,is the paradigmatic case of the fusion of the design in the painting and the design in his poems.Exploring the form and the design of words,sentences and stanzas in the poem,Williams attempts to imitate the composition and the image implication with poetic lines and designs,to represent,transform and recreate Brueghel’s painting through the design of his poetic text,and to express his admiration and pay homage to Brueghel and the uniqueness of his art as well.
