The Intelligence Gathering of the CPC's Underground Party in Xinxiang on the Eve of Liberation——Study Centered on Wang Xizhang's“Extraction of Diary before and after Liberation of Xinxiang”

解放战争时期,新乡是国民党在黄河以北的桥头堡和兵站基地,是国民党在豫北地区的重要军事据点。解放前夕,中共城工委领导下的中共地下党在新乡采取了一系列的情报搜集工作,通过派遣人员打入国民党内部等方式获取情报信息,信息内容涉及国民党在新乡的驻军情况、经济状况、社会管理情况等,为解放军解放和接管新乡提供了极有价值的信息,为后来的新乡解放和城市接管作出了重要贡献。

During the war of liberation,Xinxiang was the base of bridgehead and military station of the KMT in north of the Yellow River.It is an important military base of the KMT in the northern part of Henan.On the eve of liberation,the CPC’s underground party and the CPC’s Xinxiang City Committee adopted a series of intelligence gathering work in Xinxiang,covering the KTM’s garrison situation in Xinxiang,economic conditions,social management and dispatched personnel to enter the KTM to obtain intelligence information.It provided extremely valuable information for the liberation of the PLA and the takeover of Xinxiang.On the eve of liberation,the information collection work of the CPC’s underground party in Xinxiang had great significance for the subsequent liberation and takeover of Xinxiang.
