摘要
上世纪七八十年代以来,翻译理论界对于译者的身份认识不断加深,巴斯内特等人提出,应该改变长久以来译者身份边缘化的观点,译者在翻译活动中应该发挥其主体性作用,获得更大的活动空间,充分展现其价值。著名华裔译者刘宇昆以地道生动的英语,将刘慈欣等人的科幻作品大量介绍给西方读者,引起普通读者和翻译界的共同关注。以译者主体性为视角,从小说叙事手法、情节增删及历史文化词汇方面分析译者主体性在《三体》英译本中的体现,探讨其成功的原因。
Since the70s and80s of last century,the understanding of the translator’s identity has deepened in the translation theory circle.Bassnett and other scholars have proposed that the traditional viewpoint of the translator’s identity marginalization should be changed.The translator’s subjectivity should be given full play in the translation activities so that a translator can gain more activity space and fully display his value.The famous Chinese American translator,Liu Yukun,introduced the science fiction of Liu Cixin and others to the western readers in a vivid English language,causing the common concern of the ordinary readers and the translation community.This paper,from the perspective of the translator’s subjectivity,analyzes the translator’s subjectivity from the aspects of narrative techniques,plots’deletions,historical and cultural words in the English version of Three Body with a hope to explore the reasons for its success.
