Best Practices of Urban Library Service and Management——An Analysis of the Urban Libraries Council Innovations Initiative

北美城市图书馆委员会(ULC)自2010年开始主导城市图书馆创新奖评选,截至2018年已评选出92项最佳创新奖及60项提名奖。分析10个主题获奖案例发现,ULC创新奖呈现了城市图书馆多领域、多层次的影响力;坚持图书馆服务以需求为驱动,力求服务内容与方式的持续创新;倡导图书馆积极开展合作项目,为创新注入能量;关注图书馆自我成长,强化创新主体的内核建设。在传统的效能指标之外,如何多维度发掘、展示城市图书馆价值与影响力,如何更有效地实现创新的管理模式与服务模式的交流传播等,是ULC创新奖引发我们进一步思考的问题。

Urban Libraries Council(ULC)launched the Innovations Initiative in2010,and92Top Innovator and60Honorable Mention award winners have been selected till2018.By studying the award winning cases in10categories,it is found that the ULC's Innovations Initiative shows the vital role rural libraries play in different fields and at all levels.Library services should be driven by reader's need,and keep innovation in service content and form.It advocates the library to cooperate with institutions so as to introduce new energy.It also concerns on the development of li brary to strengthen core construction of the innovation subject.ULC's innovations innitiative brought a series of problems to think about,such as in addition to traditional performance indicators,how to explore and display urban libraries'value and impact in a multi-dimensional way,and how to effectively realize the communication and dissemination of innovative management and service models,etc.
