席慕蓉散文具有鲜明的性别意识,然而,由于作者的生活经历和家庭氛围、主体位置的多重性及回溯/推想式叙述方式的采用等,它没有像激进女性写作那样极端、偏激,而是与作者的家庭身份、社会身份及族裔身份等多重身份缠绕一起,显得相对中庸、平和,呈现为一种社会性别意识。席慕蓉散文揉性别、民族、种族及身份于一体的书写方式,不仅从思想内涵和艺术形式方面为散文创作发展做出重要贡献,而且以温婉阴柔的表达方式超越了性别对抗式女性书写,直抵女性写作发展前沿,传达出一种女性关怀伦理,值得深究。

Xi Murong’s prose is conspicuously conscious of gender.But,as a result of the writer’s living experience and family environment,multiplicity of the subject’s position and the adoption of suppository narrative methods,her prose is not as extreme and radical as radical womon’s writing but is mediocre and plain as it is entangled with such multiple identities as family identity,societal identity and ethnic identity,presenting itself as a consciousness of social gender.Her way of writing prose that merges gender,nation and race in one is not only a contribution to the development of prose creation in terms of thoughtful contents and art forms but also transcends the gender-antagonistic women’s writing in a tender and soft way to reach the frontier of women’s writing,expressing an ethic showing concern for women,which is worth studying.
