译者审美心理视角下《水浒传》两英译本的比较研究

A Comparative Study of Two English Versions of The Water Margin from the Perspective of Translator's Aesthetic Psychology

《水浒传》的翻译对中国文化的传播意义深远,而其丰厚的文化信息也给翻译带来了挑战。赛珍珠和沙博理的译本流传最为广泛。比较两位译者的审美心理构成,发现尽管赛珍珠和沙博理都试图尽力接近原著,但在翻译的过程中不可避免地将他们自己的审美特点代入其中,赛译本追求的是对原文语言风格的保留,而沙译本选择的是精细准确。

The translation of The Water Margin has far-reaching implications for the spread of Chinese culture,and its rich cultural information has also brought challenges to translators.At present,the most widely spread English versions are from Pearl and Shapiro.This paper studies the aesthetic psychological composition of the two translators and finds that Pearl and Shapiro have inevitably incorporated their own aesthetic features in the process of translating although they both had tried to approach the original.Pearl sought to preserve the linguistic style of the original,while the latter sought to select a fine and accurate version.
