Objective:To investigate the expression and significance of serum procalcitonin(PCT),hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)and D-dimer in senile pneumonia.Methods:47elderly patients with pneumonia were divided into three groups according to CURB-65score:low risk group(n=20),moderate risk group(n=15)and high risk group(n=12).20healthy aged persons were selected as control group. The serum levels of PCT,hs-CRP and D-Dimer were measured at admission or physical examination, and the relationship between PCT,hs-CRP and D-Dimer in elderly patients with pneumonia of different degrees was analyzed. Results:Compared with the control group, the serum levels of PCT,hs-CRP and D-Dimer in the elderly patients with pneumonia in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of serum PCT,hs-CRP and D-Dimer levels among three groups of elderly patients with pneumonia were compared:high risk group>medium risk group>low risk group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Serum PCT,hs-CRP and D-Dimer levels can be used to judge the severity of pneumonia in the elderly.
