系统功能语言学是英语语言学中的新兴学科,系统语言学主要从三大元理论—概念功能,人际功能和语篇功能对语言进行分析。本研究以系统功能语言学的人际意义为理论基础,对詹姆斯·乔伊斯的短篇小说集《都柏林人》和海明威的著名小说《一个干净明亮的地方》的人际意义进行研究。本研究旨在从功能语言学的人际意义角度,探讨《都柏林人》和《一个干净明亮的地方》最具有代表性的实现人际意义的项目——语气,对构筑小说及人际意义的贡献。

Systemic Functional Linguistics is the newly-developed subject in English language which analyzes language from three meta-functions:ideational function,interpersonal function and textual function.Based on interpersonal meaning in Systemic Functional Linguistics(SFL),this thesis analyzes Dubliners-the collection of short stories by James Joyce,and A clean,welllighted place,the short story by Ernest Miller Hemingway.From the perspective of FL,it aims to explore the contributions of the one of the most typical items-mood,to interpersonal meaning in Dubliners and A clean,well-lighted place.
