A Multi-dimensional Style Evaluation on the English Version of “Government Work Report”

文章以2017年《政府工作报告》为例,采用多维度分析法,深度剖析了《政府工作报告》英文译本的语体特征,并以平行文献《美国国情咨文》为参照,比较分析了《政府工作报告》在交互性/信息性、叙事性、指代明确/情境依赖性、说服性、抽象性等五个指标维度上的水平指标,揭示其凸显高信息性,高指代明确性、高说服性,低叙事性,书面色彩强烈的语体特性,并解释了其背后的成因,为今后政治文献翻译提供了语体对等的参考和启示。

With“Government Work Report”(2017)as the subject,the style features of its English version are analyzed with multi-dimension approach supporting with“State of the Union Address”as parallel textual reference.The index are calculated for the dimension of informational production,narrative/non-narrative,explicit/situation-dependent reference,overt expression of persuasion,and abstraction.The style features are revealed to be highly informational,high level explicit reference,high level of persuasiveness,low level of narration,and strong written style language.The explanation for the style formation is also provided to provide a reference for political literature translation.
