希拉里竞选演讲研究:基于隐喻的女性政治家身份建构

A Study on Hillary Clinton's Campaign Speech:Identity Construction of Female Politicians under the Frame of Metaphors

基于Charteris-Black的批评隐喻分析理论,对希拉里·克林顿竞选演讲中的隐喻进行了分析,剖析了隐喻的认知机制,阐释了隐喻使用、身份建构以及隐喻体现的政治意识形态三者间的关系。研究发现,希拉里竞选演讲中频繁使用了概念隐喻,其中最为突出的是战争隐喻、人类隐喻、商业隐喻、音乐隐喻和自然隐喻。这些隐喻手段的使用受到演讲者的文化背景、个人性格特征等因素的影响,将源于人类属性、战争、商业、音乐和自然现象的实践行为、方式和结果映射到了政治经济领域中,从多角度构建了希拉里的女性政治家身份,如关注弱势群体的民主党派战士,国家经济建设的积极参与者,拥有新潮观念的表演者以及不畏艰难、逆流而上的勇士。在这一过程中,希拉里的政治立场得以展现,隐喻、身份建构和政治意识形态三者间形成了互动。

Based on the Critical Metaphor Analysis theory of Charteris-Black,metaphors employed in Hillary Clinton's campaign speech are analyzed,with an explanation of the cognitive mechanism of metaphor,the relations between metaphor,identity construction and the hidden political ideology.It is found that types of conceptual metaphors are applied in the speech such as war metaphor,human metaphor,business metaphor,music metaphor and nature metaphor.The use of these metaphors,greatly influenced by Hillary's cultural background and personality,has mapped into politics the behaviors and phenomena from the fields of human nature,wars,business,music and nature,contributing to the construction of Hillary's identity as a female politician from diversified perspectives,such as a democrat caring about the underprivileged,an active participant for national economic growth,an actor with modern concept and a sailor fearless of torrents.The interaction between metaphors,identity construction and political ideology has been realized in this process.
