Emily Dickinson’s objection to the publication of her poetry and enthusiasm for the "private publication"of her poetry and letters have long been one of the core secrets that the research on Dickinson has tried to unravel.This paper analyzes what Dickinson’s works were confronted with in the publication process and her attitude towards it to investigate the important reasons why Dickinson opted for "private publication"as her ideal channel for emotional catharsis.
