Objective:To analyze the effects of different anesthesia methods on short-term cognitive function in elderly patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery. Methods:From February2015to September2018,60patients in the elderly undergoing orthopedic surgery were randomly divided into two groups.Group A underwent general anesthesia and group B underwent epidural anesthesia.Postoperative POCD(cognitive dysfunction)and MMSE(simple mental status test scale)score. Results:The MMSE scores of the two groups decreased first and then recovered, and the MMSE scores in group B at24hours after anesthesia were higher than those in group A(t=6.3965,P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia has a greater impact on short-term cognitive function in elderly patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery.
