By using t he analogy method,the paper summarizes the stress analysis roadmap of mechanics of materials,and unifi es the stress formulas and their derivation processes of axial tension,torsion and bending.The destination of mechanics of materials is to study the strength,stiffness and stability,each of which has three types of topics:checking,cross section design and allowable load.The paper shows that all these topics can have a unifi ed form of expression.
