高等教育支出与地区全要素生产率——基于空间面板数据模型的分析

Higher Education Expenditure and Regional Total Factor Productivity:Based on Spatial Panel Data Model

高等教育支出是支撑一个国家或地区长远发展的战略性投资,也是教育事业改革发展的物质基础和保障.采用空间面板数据实证分析高等教育支出与地区全要素生产率之间的关系,结果表明:高等教育支出不仅对本地全要素生产率产生了明显的积极影响,而且通过正向空间溢出效应推动了周边地区的技术进步.研究进一步发现高等教育支出提高了高水平人力资本的投资意愿,进而通过人力资本水平的积累对地区全要素生产率产生积极影响.

Higher education expenditure is a strategic investment to support the long-term development of a country or region,as well as the material foundation and guarantee for the reform and development of education.Using spatial panel data,this paper empirically analyzes the relationship between government higher education expenditure and regional total factor productivity.The research results show that higher education expenditure not only has a significant positive influence on total factor productivity,but also promote technological progress in the neighboring area through the positive spatial spillover effect.The study further finds that higher education expenditure raises the investment intention of high level human capital,and then the accumulation of human capital can have a positive effect on the regional total factor productivity.
