说“内”

Interpretation on Nei(内)

学界一般认为入像锐端之形;内从宀、入,会入室内之意。从相关古文字资料来看,内从宀、入具有一定的道理,但是结合入、内同源及相关情况,内从宀、入似有难解之处。本文认为内字所从宀形部件表示锐端之形"入"的"所入之处",并非从宀。

Academia generally believe that ru(入) is like the shape of sharp end,while nei(内) is composed of 宀 and ru(入) and is associated to the meaning of entering a room through the graphic combination and interaction of both constituent elements.According to the ancient characters data,the analysis that nei(内) composing of 宀 and ru(入)can make some sense,but considering the fact that ru(入) and nei(内) have the same origin and other related information,it seems like that nei(内) composing of 宀 and ru(入) is hard to explain.This paper believes that the constituent part 宀 of the character nei(内)means“the point for enter”of the other constituent part ru(入) which shows the shape of sharp end while the meaning of nei(内) is not related with 宀.
