野田执政时期的"购岛"事件,是中日关系中的典型案例之一。这一重大外交决策发生在美国相对衰落和中国崛起,以及中日国力逆转等国际体系深刻变革的背景之下。其实质是日本在战略转型及对华政策调整的背景下,以"中国威胁论"为潜在语意迎合国内保守化情绪与主张,主动打破中日间业已达成的重要谅解与共识的政策决定。其结果恶化了中日关系并在一定程度上激化了地区矛盾。在解读"购岛"决策时,新古典现实主义国际政治理论提供了有益的分析工具。
