Verification of the Twenty-four Errors from The Chronology of Governor-Generals and Governors during Ming Dynasty

《明督抚年表》是清代吴廷燮编著有关明代督抚沿革的力作,是研究明代督抚问题的重要工具书。该书收集史料宏广,结构简洁明了,有明一代的督抚沿革清楚明晰。然而,因受时代以及史料搜捡难度较大等方面的限制,使得该书存在一些疏漏和讹误,主要体现在人员任命时间、任职时官衔讹误以及收录漏误等。今对该书二十四处讹误进行校补,以期对明代督抚相关研究有所裨益。

The book The Chronology of Governor-Generals and Governors during Ming Dynasty written by Wu Tingxie is an important reference book concerned with the innovation of governor-generals and governors during the Ming Dynasty.The book collects extensive historical materials.The setting of the book is clear and distinguishable.However,limited by tough historical data searching at that time lead to some omissions and errors in this book.There are mainly three kinds of errors,the date of inauguration,the official title and omission of historical data.This paper aims to correct twenty-four errors in this book to contribute to the research of governor-generals and governors during Ming Dynasty.
