Politeness Principle and It's Applied Characteristics in Different Situation

半个多世纪以来,礼貌语言一直备受人们关注,但目前各家所述礼貌原则尚欠完备,可从"礼貌交际三角"的主体视角对之进行补充。礼貌原则有其自身的使用域限:文化背景决定其应用效果,交际目的决定其应用方式,交际主体决定其言语礼貌度的高低。基于交际目的及礼貌原则实际应用情境,可将礼貌语言分为单纯礼貌、语言技巧和语言贿赂等三个次类。

The last more than half century,people pay much attention to the issue of polite language.But the Politeness Principle proposed by each scholar is not perfect at present.We can improve it with the subject view of“the polite communication triangle”.The use of Politeness Principle has different characteristics under different circumstances.The cultural background determines the application of Politeness Principle;The objectives of communication determine the way of using Politeness Principle;The people involved in the conversation decide the diction’s degree of politeness.According to the purpose of communication and the application of Politeness Principles,the polite language can be divided into three classes:Simple courtesy,Language skills and Language bribery.
