摘要
京杭大运河是运河沿线经济社会发展的启动器和助力机,催发和带动了城市的崛起和繁荣,并进而形成沿河城市群带。苏北位于京杭大运河中段,控扼运河咽喉,又是黄河、淮河和运河交汇重地,位置特别关键,地位尤其重要,而历史上苏北运河的变化复杂而多样,对苏北城市盛衰起落的影响也格外显著。大体而言,先秦至隋代,是苏北运河初步开发阶段,苏北运河城市由此兴起,运河城市群初具雏形。隋唐宋元时期是运河进一步开发阶段,苏北运河城市群初步形成。明清时期苏北运河走势基本定型,运河城市群最后形成,呈现出一片繁荣昌盛的美景。
The Beijing-Hangzhou Canal has great influences on economic and social development along the route like a starter and assisting machine, which has stimulated and promoted the rise and prosperity of the city, and then formed city group along the river. Northern Jiangsu is located in the middle section of the Canal. It controls the throat of the canal and has particularly status. The Canal has a significant impact on the ups and downs of northern Jiangsu cities. In general, the northern Jiangsu canal city group has just taken shape from Pre-Qin to Sui Dynasty. During Sui, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, northern Jiangsu canal city group has preliminary formed, and finally formed during Ming and Qing Dynasties.
