Using English Newspapers to Improve Senior High Students' Reading Ability

2003年版课程标准语言技能七级目标要求能阅读适合高中生的英语报刊或杂志。因此,报刊阅读已成为英语学习的内容焦点之一。本文指出了高中生目前的阅读能力现状,就如何借助英文报刊提高高中生的英语阅读能力和英语学习水平展开了分析,旨在探究高中生英文报刊阅读的方法以弥补课堂阅读的不足,从而使学生的英语阅读能力有更进一步的提高。

The new curriculum stipulates that senior high graduates should have the ability to read general English newspapers and magazines.Therefore,newspaper and periodical reading have become one of the skills in English learning.This article describes the present situation of senior high school students’reading ability,and analyzes how to improve their reading ability and English learning level by reading English newspapers.The purpose of this article is to explore the ways of reading newspapers in order to compensate the lack of classroom reading,so as to further improve students’English reading ability.
