周瘦鹃与《半月》杂志——“消闲”文学与摩登海派文化(1921—1925)

Zhou Shoujuan and the Half a Month Magazine:“Leisure” Literature and Modern Shanghai-style Culture(1921-1925)

1920年代初,在"新""旧"文学之争中创刊的《半月》是周瘦鹃第一本独立主编的杂志,是不可忽视的"海派"文化景观。该杂志以《伦敦杂志》《海滨杂志》为借镜,将"消闲"与"专研文艺"相结合,紧贴都市时尚脉动,鼓吹新国民守则与新家庭生活,把名花美人的抒情美学、伦理价值以及文人雅集唱和方式融为一体,富于情思与文创的意味。这一范式与"五四"反传统及其彻底改造中国社会的"革命"观不同,召唤另一种世界经验与中国想象。文章从中西文化交融、为社会底层发声、家庭价值、商品美学与小说艺术等方面描述《半月》的特征,并指出周瘦鹃"花样翻新"的编辑理念对于今天新时代文化建设仍具启示意义。

The Half a Month Magazine, founded at the beginning of 1920s among the debate of “new” and “old” literature, was the first independently-edited magazine by Zhou Shoujuan. It is a sign of Shanghai-style culture which cannot be neglected. Learning from London Magazine and Seaside Magazine, this magazine combines “leisure” and “literature”, touches the city fashion, covers new rules for citizens and new family life, and mixes lyric aesthetics, moral values and scholarly style, so it is full of love and creativity. This style is different from “May 4th” ideology, which is against the traditional style. It is also different from the “revolutionary” ideology, which wants to reform the society completely. It calls for another kind of experience and imagination. This article describes the features of Half a Month from the perspectives of cross-cultural communication, voices of the bottom class, family values, commodity aesthetics, and the art of novels. The article also points out Zhou Shoujuan’s editing ideology still sheds light on today’s cultural construction.
