摘要
《无名的裘德》作为托马斯·哈代小说写作生涯的封笔之作,自问世起就备受争议。哈代以悲怆的笔调写出了主人公裘德和淑在面对残酷的现实生活和他们之间为世人所不容的不伦恋情时所做出的挣扎。裘德究其一生都在为着自己的目标和信念而奋斗,而在这个过程中,他的身份确立几经转折,依托在不同的“他者”主体上,最后导致自我身份认知的混乱及毁灭。本文将立足于拉康的“镜像阶段理论”和“自我”理论,探讨裘德在身份构建过程中的身份危机及其走向悲剧结局的原因。
As the last work of Thomas Hardy's novel career,Jude the Obscure has been controversial since it came out.Hardy described grimly Jude and Sue's struggling life when they were hit by the cruel real life and their unethical love.Jude spent his whole life to fight for his aim and belief.However,because he depended his identity on different “other” subjects,it led to his confusion of his identity and his death.This essay will analyze the identity crisis during the construction process of identity and the reasons of his tragic life according to the Lacan's Mirror Phase theory and the theory of self.
