Reflections on the “Four Greats” in the New Era from the Perspective of Marxist Philosophy

"四个伟大"不仅各有其独特内涵,而且是一个相互贯通、相互作用的有机整体,构成了当代中国最具时代特色的伟大实践。"四个伟大"蕴含丰富的辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义思想,如物质与意识的辩证关系、联系、发展、矛盾观点、群众观点等;"四个伟大"为我们提供认识世界和改造世界的思想方法和工作方法,如实事求是、群众路线、矛盾分析法、战略思维等;"四个伟大"是关乎党和国家前途和命运的重大根本问题。

The “Four Greats” not only have their own unique connotations, but also are an organic whole that is connected and interacted with each other, constituting the greatest practice of contemporary China with the characteristics of the times. The “four greats” contain rich dialectical materialism and historical materialism, such as the dialectical relationship between material and consciousness, views of connection, development, contradictory and mass views. The “four greats” also provide us with ways of thinking and working to understand and transform the world, such as seeking truth from facts, the mass line, analysis of contradictions,strategic thinking and so on. The “four greats” are a major fundamental concerning the future and destiny of the party and the country.
