德兴堂本《金碗钗》是晚清西安民间书坊刊刻本。其剧名取自"金碗"典实和"金凤钗"故事的双环合璧;正确题署实是《金碗钗》,而不应再误题为《金琬钗》。剧情主线是卢充和崔少府女丽娘幽婚生子事,本事源于晋代志怪小说《卢充》或《崔少府女》;而"妹续姊婚"事,则出自明初瞿佑的文言小说《金凤钗记》;其直接所本或是晚明王澹的《金碗记》传奇。剧情副线是崔护和桃小春婚合事,本事源于孟棨的《本事诗》。《金碗钗》文体性质属于花部地方戏,具体则为陕西民间艺人编创的秦腔剧本或关中皮影碗碗腔剧本,而不是文人创作的清代传奇戏。

The edition of De Xing Tang of "Gold Bowl Hairpin"is a version printed by nongovernmental bookshops in Xi’an in late Qing Dynasty.The title of this drama is taken from a combination of allusions and historical facts of "Gold Bowl"and the story of "Gold Phoenix Hairpin";the right inscription is "Gold Bowl Hairpin"but should not be mistaken for Gold Wan Hairpin.The main plot is the secret marriage with children of Lu Chong and Li Niang,the daughter of Magistrate Cui and the original story originates from "Lu Chong"or "The Daughter of Magistrate Cui",Mythical Stories of Jin Dynasty;but "The Sororate Marriage"comes from the Classic Novel "The Story of the Gold Phoenix Hairpin"written by Qu You in early Ming Dynasty;it may narrate a story directly according to "The Story of Gold Bowl"written by Wang Dan in late Ming Dynasty.The subplot is the marriage of Cui Hu and Tao Xiaochun,and the original story is from Meng Qi’s A Collection of Poems concerning themselves.Gold Bowl Hairpin’s stylistic nature is part of the local opera named Hua Bu,specifically is the Qin Opera Play-scripts compiled and created by folk artists in Shan Xi or Tunes of Small Copper Bowls in Puppet Shadow Play-scripts in Guan Zhong but is not Legend-Opera in the Qing Dynasty written by literati.
