Effects of Historical Changes on Australian English Lexicon from the Perspective of Sociolinguistics

随着社会语言学的兴起,语言的研究层出不穷,而澳大利亚英语是一注新鲜独特的血液。本文旨在用社会语言学相关理论解释澳大利亚英语词汇的分割以及特点,以语言词汇为重点,一方面,深入探究社会文化生活变化对澳大利亚英语词汇的变化与发展的影响;另一方面,研究澳大利亚词汇和社会的各种关系,使用语言学的材料来描写和解释社会行为,并将语言当作社会现象考察。

With the emergence of sociolinguistics as a relatively young discipline,all forms of research in this regard have thrived one after another,among which the research on Australian English boasts its uniqueness in academic community.This paper,based on the sociolinguistic theory,focuses on the reasonable explanations to the variations and the features of Australian English lexicon,with an emphasis on its vocabulary and the lexical changes and the development as influenced by social and cultural changes,discusses the relatedness between social factors and Australian English lexicon and depicts social behaviors.
