摘要
通过问卷调查,对非英语专业研究生课堂沉默的意义与功能进行了研究。研究结果显示,非英语专业研究生课堂沉默主要意义和功能如下:(1)沉默表示学生正在思考或认真倾听,具有课堂活动参与功能;(2)沉默是学生掩饰某种消极心理的手段,具有面子保护功能;(3)学生的课堂沉默显示了学生的从众心理和求同心理,具有寻求同伴认可功能。根据调查结果,提出对待课堂沉默的三点建议,即倾听课堂沉默的声音;尊重学生课堂沉默的权利;引导学生进行思辨性思考。
Meanings and functions of classroom silence were studied among non-English major postgraduates through questionnaires.The research results show that the student silence in classroom has the following meanings:thinking actively or listening attentively;hiding negative psychology from teachers;showing herd mentality.Accordingly,their silence functions as class participation,face protection and peer recognition.Based on the research results,three suggestions on how to deal with classroom silence are proposed for teachers:listen to students’voice of silence,respect their right to remain silent,and guild students to think critically.
