释史墙盘铭中的“廓恢”

Interpretation of the“Kuohui” in Shi Qiang Pan

史墙盘铭称颂成王及其臣下的铭辞中的“■■”学界多释为“肇彻”。本文认为“■”和“■”(肇)有从“■”从“■”之别,并非“■”字,应是从“■”(郭)声的一个字,就是《说文》未收而见于《尔雅》的“廓”的初文。而“■”和“彻”的古文也有从“火”、非从“火”之别,释为“彻”形体上也缺乏证据,应从陈世辉说释为“灰”字初文,读为“恢”,“■■”即“廓恢”,“用廓恢周邦”是言开拓扩大了周邦。

The characters"■■,which eulogize King Cheng and his left and right in Shi Qiang Pan(史墙盘),were used to be interpreted as"zhaoche(肇彻)".However,on one hand,different with the counterpart"■"in"zhao(肇)",the component"■"in"■"is the phonetic component of"■"(i.e.the proto-form of"kuo(廓)"beard in(《尔雅》)but not exist in《说文解字》).On the other hand,the"■"has the element"火"that cannot be found in the"Guwen script(古文)"form in Shuowenjfezi of"che(彻)",which makes the former interpretation as"che(彻)"lack evidence in graphic form.Therefore,the"■"should be interpreted as the proto-form of"hui(灰)"firstly stated l)y Chen Shihui;and it is the borrowing form of"hui(恢)"in the text.The"■■"is"kuohui(廓恢)",while"yong|kuohui zhoubang(用廓恢周邦)"refers to explore and expand the Zhou state.
