The paper studies the causes and prevention measures of the spontaneous combustion of coal pile. Firstly, it analyzes the main causes of spontaneous combustion of coal pile, spontaneous combustion tendency, oxygen supply condition, oxidation time and heat storage condition.Secondly, in order to avoid the spontaneous combustion of coal pile to the greatest extent, some effective measures are put forward, such as identifying coal spontaneous combustion tendency, strengthening coal pile maintenance, selecting reasonable coal storage time and doing compaction work. Finally, it is pointed out that spontaneous combustion of coal pile will cause serious losses. Therefore, it is necessary to select appropriate prevention measures according to the specific conditions of coal pile, so as to prevent the spontaneous combustion of coal pile.
