Origin,direction and distance,coming from the ancient magical geography works Shan Hai Jing,was the basic model and the important source of the charm of Liu Zongyuan’ s landscape literature. Liu Zongyuan,centered on himself on the edge of the Tang empire,built a unique literary world by ritualistic behaviors. Liu Zongyuan’s extraordinary detailed description for his landscape world and measuring space distance with footsteps magnified his limited real activity space,which is typical mentality and behaviors of a prisoner.
