The Vitality of Communication and Interaction:The Visual Consciousness and Imagination in Wordsworth's Poems

传统的华兹华斯研究界普遍认为,在华氏早年创作的盛期他表达出对视觉感官的抵制,因为它限制了想象力的生发和心灵的跃动。笔者认为,华氏诗作中始终存在着鲜明的视觉意识,这种视觉意识与想象力有紧密的联系。但前后表现为两个层面,即早期的从眼见到心灵之见及中晚期的眼见与心灵之见的交互生发,在这种相互生发的过程中想象力与心灵的跃动获得了新的生命力。

Wordsworth studies generally think that in the early years of poetic creation,Wordsworth shows a strong resistance to the visual sense,since it restrains the vitality of heart and soul as well as the imagination.There has been visual consciousness in Wordsworths poems,it is closely related to his imagination.However,the visual consciousness is demonstrated on two levels.In his early years of creation,the vision from eyes is transformed to the vision from soul,while in his middle and late years,the visions from eyes,heart and memory are communicated and intertwined,his imagination and vitality of the inner world are renewed and elevated.
