扬州八大名园历史演变

The Historical Evolution of Eight Famous Gardens in Yangzhou

扬州清代八大名园之说,首见于费轩的《梦香词》,后李斗《扬州画舫录》传扬并坐实具体八家及后裔。费轩所言八家乃指年间的城北园林,李斗所述八家中有四家与费轩所言不合。两人的差异,似可看成八大名园在历史中的演变,故略述诸园自古至今的演变大略,以见扬州园林实体延存的一斑。

Eight Yangzhou famous gardens in Qing Dynasty originated in Meng Xiang Ci by Fei Xuan and spread and substantiated in Collection of Yangzhou Gaily-painted Pleasure Boats by Li Dou.Eight gardens mentioned by Fei Xuan refer to the ones in the northern part of the city,which are different from those by Li Dou in four gardens.Their difference reflects the evolution of the eight famous gardens in the history.Therefore,the brief description of their evolution can prove the existence of Yangzhou gardens.
