Three topic-concepts of embellishments in writing in Wen Xin Diao Long

《文心雕龙》一书是由50篇骈体文组成的,其中每篇文章都讲究文采藻饰之美,都达到了相当高的美学境界。如果对其成就和特色加以探究,有三点特别值得我们注意:一是自然之美与人工藻饰之美兼顾,没有偏执;二是坚持为情理而造文的藻饰原则,不是片面追求词采之美;三是达到了词采与情理内容的高度统一,创造了文质彬彬的艺术境界。

The book Wen Xin Diao Long is composed of fifty parallel proses,each of which stresses the beauty of literary grace and embellishments in writing,and has reached a fairly high aesthetic realm.If we explore its achievements and characteristics,there are three points that deserve our attention:the first is give consideration to the beauty of nature and of embellishments,without paranoia;the second is the principle of making the article for the sake of feeling and reason,not one side pursuing the beauty of the words,and the third is to achieve the high unity of the words with feeling and reason,and to create artistic realm of appropriate cooperation between literary grace and substance.
