The Pragmatic Function of Linguistic Politeness

人们的日常会话都包含着礼貌用语。它虽普及,但是相关的语言礼貌理论却值得深入研究。越是普遍认知的常识,往往越难概括普遍适用理论。通过相关理论的比较,探究出相对全面的语言礼貌模式。从而证明夸张可以提升普遍存在的礼貌用语功能,因为夸张的本质是事实。不少语言学家已证实夸张在日常会话中普遍存在,说话方和聆听者之间的语言互动,相互理解才能更好地实现夸张提升礼貌用语的表达力。

Politeness exits in our everyday conversation.Despite its ubiquity,the theory of linguistic politeness is worth studying.The more acknowledged concept it is,the more complex to conceptualize it.In order to find a relatively comprehensive model of linguistic politeness,the author made a comparison among several theories.It is proved that hyperbole can enhance the linguistic function of the language of politeness because the essence of hyperbole is authentic.Many linguists have manifested the pervasiveness of hyperbole in daily communication.Only when the speaker and listener communicate interactively and understand each other can the pragmatic function of hyperbole to enhance politeness be achieved.
