摘要
五部新教传教士的《论语》英译本历时百余年,在《论语》书名及"孔子"称谓的翻译上,亦经历了从"音译"到"意译"的变化。然而,无论是"音译"还是"意译",传教士都必然或隐或显地将基督教话语融入其相关的翻译与解释之中。但是,与此同时,我们也不难发现,正是通过在西方语言中被命名的方式,儒家思想才得以进入西方文化的概念系统并持续不断地留下其意义的"踪迹"。
For over one hundred years,the title of Confucian Analects and the appellations of Confucius translated by Protestant missionaries changed from transliteration into free translation.However,whether transliteration or free translation,it is inevitable for missionaries to transplant Christian discourse into the translation and interpretation of the terms mentioned.Meanwhile,only by means of being named by Western languages can the Chinese Confucian thoughts enter into the conception system of the Western culture and incessantly produce their “traces” of meaning.
