驿传体系作为维系传统王朝统治的重要国家机器曾经发挥了无可替代的历史作用,在这一交通机构运行千年之后终于面临行将就木的命运,清末"裁驿归邮"或许是其最后的归宿,然而这一过程并非一帆风顺,围绕裁驿归邮后的邮政管理权问题,陆军部与邮传部之间产生严重分歧,彼此心存畛域,在历经一番你来我往的争夺后最终将邮政的管理权归属邮传部,安徽省在这一历史转型之中,把握机遇,适时开展邮政、电报业务,较好地实现邮驿事业的新旧嬗递。

As an important state machine to maintain traditional dynastic rule,the courier station system had played an irreplaceable historical role,and finally faced the fate of dying after the operation of this traffic organization for millennia.At the end of the Qing Dynasty,“being transformed into postal system” might be its final destination,but the process was not smooth,for there were serious differences between the courier station system’s army department and the modern post office around the issue of post administration.In the end,the management power of postal service was transferred to the Ministry of Postal Transmission after a long struggle.In this historical transformation,Anhui Province witnessed the evolution of postal servic,grasped the opportunity and developed the postal and telegram business in good time.
