Argument on the Theory of Chiang Kai-shek's Letting the Long March Succeed for Solving the Southwest Problem

蒋介石"放水"红军长征说实有三个版本,"放水"红军解决西南问题是其中之一。近年开放的资料显示南京内部固然有优先解决西南问题的建议,但亦有不受干扰、全力"剿共"的呼吁;蒋介石流露颇为急切的谋粤之意,主要是一种情绪的宣泄,行动上仍全力"剿共"。西南方面责蒋纵共是反蒋之需,且自相矛盾。只要更为全面地运用相关资料,不偏信,不误信,并不能得出蒋介石"放水"红军解决西南问题的结论。

About the argument that Chiang Kai-shek let the Long March succeed on purpose there are three versions,one of which is that Chiang did so for solving the southwest problem.In recent years,the open data show that although from Nanjing government during that period,there were some suggestions to give priority to the solution of the southwest problem,there were also calls for “suppressing the Communists” without interference.Chiang Kai-shek’s eagerness to seek Guangdong was mainly a kind of emotional catharsis,and he still made every effort to “suppress the Communists” in his actions.Meanwhile,the southwest side’s accusation of Chiang’s indulging the Communists,which was self-contradictory,came out of the intention to oppose Chiang Kai-shek.As long as more comprehensive relevant information is included,non-partial attitude is adopted,mistaken belief is abandoned,it is impossible to draw a conclusion that Chiang Kai-shek’s Letting the Long March Succeed was to solve the southwest problem.
