The structure characteristics and the capacity switching principle of on-load capacity regulating transformer are described. A method for determining the critical economic capacity is confirmed by analyzing the economic operation mode of the load regulating transformer. The design and implementation of key control strategies such as protection control strategy, economic operation strategy and Mai-operation prevention strategy are analyzed. Through the data analysis of the pilot area, the operation eff ects and economic benefi ts of the on-load regulating transformer are evaluated, and the application prospect is forecasted.
