莎士比亚是英国文艺复兴时期伟大的诗人、剧作家。本文讨论了莎剧《麦克白》和《理查三世》中的两位国王,同时也是两位弑君篡位者的行为与性格相似与相异之处。文章通过对人物的分析研究来发现莎士比亚在创作中的艺术特色:人物形象独具特色、刻画生动;情节集中、发展迅速、内心独白丰富。两部戏剧的独创性在于对人文主义为代表的时代精神的凸显。

William Shakespeare was the greatest dramatist and poet in the Renaissance in Great Britain.During his lifetime he created more than one hundred characters,each one is unique.This paper is a probe into the special artistic features and creativity of Shakespeare’s writing through the comparative study of the two major characters:the usurpers in Macbeth and King RichardⅢ.The artistic features and creativity lies in the rapid developments of the plots and the spirit of time represented by humanism.
