《广州大典》是一部反映广州历史与发展的巨著,分为经、史、子、集、丛五部分,其中《子部》包含了西学东渐中西医在广州的传播进程,牛痘接种就是其中之一。《引痘略》是我国传播牛痘接种术最主要的方书,该书在西方牛痘术的基础上与中医理论相结合,在西医东渐的过程中具有里程碑的意义,对后世免疫学的发展也有着深远的影响。
