摘要
心是孤独的猎手》不仅呈现了麦卡勒斯作品的"孤独"主题、基督神学元素、"畸形人"形象和高超的叙事技巧,还展现了作者对于现代人在性别问题和性别取向方面的深入思考。本文基于酷儿理论来解读《心是孤独的猎手》中的同性恋者辛格、"假小子"少女米克和异性装扮癖者毕夫所表现出来的性别身份问题,以及他们与主流社会观念所做的斗争,剖析了辛格的自杀、米克的回归和毕夫"母性"的消逝等的内涵意义,以期对该作品的理解和麦卡勒斯研究带来新的补充和启发。
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter not only shows the“loneliness”theme,Christianity elements,deformed images and skillful narration of Carson McCullers’works but also her thinking about modern people’s gender identity problems.By employing the Queer theory,this paper analyzes those gender identity problems shown by Singer as a gay,Mick as a tomboy and Biff as a transvestite,shows their struggles with the social gender norm and explores the symbolic meanings of Singer’s suicide,Mick’s returning to a lady and Biff’s fading maternity.It is hoped to shed light on the future studies on McCullers and this novel.
