As a well-known American Chinese writer,Amy Tan is skilled in telling old Chinese stories to western readers.Tan’s expression of Chinese culture deviates from the original to some degree,and transfiguration in her works is easy to find.Her strong Chinese flavor gained her success but roused discussion even criticism by some scholars,too.Is this transfiguration really not acceptable,how should people view this phenomenon correctly?The thesis analyzes the hidden reason and implication of the transfiguration,and expects that the study on these issues could show some insight into the further development of American Chinese culture on the multicultural stage.
