《李尔王》中“in”的空间隐喻探究

A Study of Spatial Metaphor of “in” in King Lear

《李尔王》中存在大量的空间隐喻,其中以"in"的用法最为频繁,根据映射过程中射体(tr)是否发生位移可将"in"隐喻划为静态和动态两种类型。这两种类型的"in"隐喻在目标域选择、表现形式等方面存在不同程度的差异,而根据认知机制上的差异可将静态"in"隐喻分为包裹式和接触式,将动态"in"隐喻分为内指型和外指型。这些差异在推动剧情发展、渲染气氛等方面发挥着不容忽视的作用,同时"in"隐喻在映射路径方向上的选择也体现出不同人物鲜明的性格差异,生动地刻画出人物形象。

There are a lot of spatial metaphors in King Lear , in which “in” is frequently used. According to the displacement of the trajector (tr) in the mapping process, the spatial metaphor of “in” can be classified into static “in” and dynamic “in”. These two types differ in the selection of target domain and their expression. Due to the differences in cognitive mechanism, the static “in” can be further divided into surrounding “in” and contacting “in”, while the dynamic “in” is divided into inward “in” and outward “in” according to the movement of the trajector. These differences are vital in promoting the development of the plot, representing the atmosphere, and the choice of the spatial metaphor of “in” in the mapping path also embodies personalities of different characters and thus represents these characters vividly.
